Thank you! I am very excited to have won the opportunity to represent the 11th District in the General Assembly for a second term.
Thank you to everyone who knocked on thousands of doors, staffed the Early Vote and Election Day polls, read our mail, contributed financially, posted signs, waved at corners, served as formal and informal advisors, spoke to their friends about our work, and voted.
Congratulations to my colleagues, Senator Bobby Zirkin and Delegate Dana Stein on their re-elections and a warm welcome to Jon Cardin who will join our delegation. I look forward to working with them, knowing that we will be an effective team on behalf of the 11th District!
It’s not easy to run for office, so I have a great deal of respect for the challengers in this campaign who put forth the energy and effort, motivated to make our community a better place to live, work, and enjoy.
Our society is going through enormous change. We still have another election to win in November, but in the coming weeks and months, I look forward to continuing our conversations, learning from you, and working together as we focus on how best to respond to these new opportunities.
Thank you for everything!
P.S. Special thanks goes to my family for enduring another campaign. As you can imagine, running for office wreaks havoc on a household – from the physical mess to the psychic anxiety! I’m especially grateful to my husband, children, parents, in laws, and my sister (who flew in from Seattle for Election Day) for all of their time, love, and support.
